IGAP Increasing Girl Access Program

IGAP addresses the decline of females accessing school or reaching high school.

BASICSĀ teaches girls discipline and basic skills required to enter school. These teenage girls, who have never experienced a classroom, are likely to be entered into the Ghanaian schooling system at their age level, as oppose to their literacy level, and it is our goal to bring them up to speed. Due to cultural practices and pressure, many teenage girls who are yet to begin their education, often follow the path of teenage pregnancy, which only continues the cycles of poverty in their communities. It is important that these girls are shown extra attention, and given the opportunities they deserve, to reject living a life of poverty.
