The organization was
founded by Patricia Wilkins, an American born in Brooklyn, New
York and raised in Queens County. Prior to founding the organization,
Ms Wilkins worked over seventeen years in the Fashion Industry
in New York. In 1999, Ms Wilkins answered a calling to enter
into the missions' field. She was led to quit a high paying
job, sell off all her personal possessions and make a commitment
to finance her mission through her personal savings.
After spending over one month in Russia working with physically
and mentally challenged children under the auspices of the United
Methodist Church Volunteer in Mission program - she was led
to Ghana, West Africa.
There she had the opportunity to see first hand the tremendous
needs of the children of Africa. After working with other organizations
in Ghana, who address some of these pertinent issues, Patricia
has now made a spiritual & financial sacrifice to remain
in Ghana to fulfill her calling. A
word from our founder:
I feel truly blessed that I have this
opportunity to serve GOD and help HIS children. Each day, I
give thanks when I look into the eyes of these children and
see the hope that was once NOT there. My desire is to end this
terrible war on children in Africa, where they are being subjected
to such harsh circumstances out of their control.
My mission is to raise these children to have hope and faith
to achieve goals that will help the ongoing and future development
of Africa. I thank GOD for my faith, that I continue to believe
that there is HOPE at the end of this dark tunnel. Since 2000,
I have met children- who were malnutritoned, illiterate, loss,
abandoned, lonely, desperate and abused. In the same years,
I have seen these same children, eating, reading, learning,
playing, laughing, secured, loved, nurtured and rehabilitated.
And that KEEPS me going!
I thank GOD for everyone who believed in my calling and supported
me from the beginning and continued to date. |
